But haha, been reading the other soccer girls' blogs and almost everybody already blogged about it so, here goes.

Well there's no way that Soccer Camp can't be fun because that's how awesome we are. I'm glad we all bonded so much over the two days and:

Year 4s sans QY with her broken ankle ):
WHEELCHAIR, FUN LOL! Eunice having suicidal wish and letting our resident crazy girl push her.

High Kings of Narnia +1

Starbucks and caffeine cake and I have never and the epic HTHT into the night.

The fault lies with our free entertainment YT and her underwear. Don't ask.

I'm really glad for how we always come back every year from our different cliques and bare our hearts and trust each other. (:
First day, we played against Lynwood Academy from Australia and I think we did okay, probably because we actually managed to score first although the scoreline pretty much quickly declined against our favour. Second day afternoon, were 9-aside friendlies with Whitley Secondary at MJC, and although the scores were 0-0 I think we made a decent attempt at offense (:
I think I've improved a lot this year as a soccer player what with playing competitively against JCs instead of secondary schools and also because I've had the chance to play more often as a midfielder instead of central defender. Probably not so much skill wise as experience wise. And hopefully I've been a good captain, ahaha. But there's obviously loads of things to improve on, and I'm all the more resolved to play harder and train harder for the Nationals next year. For one I really want to mature into a better playmaker, like the few really good central midfielders we've played against before. So I think I've got to get out of the mindset of a flank player and start being calmer on the pitch, hah. Made some pretty stupid errors due to indecisiveness on the pitch for the friendlies on Day 2. Skill wise, there's really a lot to work on with ball control and dribbling and passing and long range shooting.
But I'm encouraged by the general leaps of improvement evident in the team! Haha, I think everyone that played really did amazingly, especially on the second day la. I think most of us were all trying out our new positions cuz we kinda decided on the formation ourselves (:
Sarah YanTong
Sangeetha YJ Amelia
WhaiPeng Eunice Yanni
Wardah
For example.. Sarah as FW (LOL I don't think she has actually played much competitively before) and Amelia playing for us for the first time, Yanni as flank defender and Eunice as a central defender. At first I was a bit hesitant to play mid cuz I was scared our defense would be kinda shaky but I think Whai Peng and Yanni held off the flank attacks really well and Eunice was just being a solid rock wall at the back la. Yeaps I'm so proud of our team can xD
Even the bench people HAHA, who lived up to our traditionally high casualty rate in NUSHS and injured themselves during camp : Kat, Lisa, Sharmaine.
Next year's gonna be weird/sad without the year 6s because well, they've really been a great part of our team la. You guys are seriously the most awesome seniors any CCA can ever hope to have for us, and have all impacted us in your own way. I remember playing for the girls soccer for the first time where I didn't know anyone at all and I was kinda apprehensive but everyone was just, nice, y'know? I remember using Eliza's spare boots and hearing all her crazy lame jokes and playing defense with ChinWee and learning to be a better player and captain from her and suanning Asmi about her classmates and imitating her R-s and laughing at Yanni's hair with Becca and her crazy power shots and seeing how WaiLeng always stays back to run with and encourage the slower people and hearing Viona point out our bad points then clarifying that she isn't criticizing us per se because she didn't want our feelings hurt and yeah, you guys made soccer way more than just a CCA where we play together and then leave, and you continuously inspire us to be better players and teammates and to even better seniors to the juniors coming in every year.
